Welco is Back as Title Sponsor for the 51st Annual Fernie Lions Club Demolition Derby
Welco Expediting Ltd., proudly based in Calgary, Alberta and committed to supporting Western Canadian communities, is excited to return as the title sponsor of the 51st Annual Fernie Lions Club Demolition Derby, happening Sunday, August 31, 2025, in beautiful Fernie, British Columbia.
Welco is a strong supporter of Western Canadian communities. We’re honoured to continue our partnership with the Fernie Lions Club and help power this legendary event that gives back to local seniors, youth groups, sports teams, and charities throughout the Elk Valley region.
About the Derby:
- Gates open 11 AM, first heat at NOON: be ready for a full day of spectacular vehicle smash-ups!
- Cash-only admission: $20 for adults (18+), $10 for youths/students (11+), and children under 11 get in free.
- Heats across classes: Full-size cars, small cars, and trucks all vying for supremacy.
- Derby prizes: $5,000 for the full-size car champion and payouts in small car and truck divisions.
- Concession stands & pizza
- Expanded beer garden (19+ only).
- Huge 50/50 draw
- Kid zone: bouncy castles. Recommended ear/dust protection (ear plugs, bandanas, sunglasses).
- No dogs: please leave your furry friends at home.
